Business Requirement

Telia’s relationship with Intec goes back to 1996, when the company upgraded its billing system. With the proliferation of new services it was difficult for the existing billing model to manage the volume growth. A new solution that could withstand the challenge of expansion without threatening network performance was critical.

Telia also needed to transfer its existing rating system from another platform to the new billing system, a system that could function with minimal human intervention.

Solution

Intec and Telia successfully integrated the rating engine on Intec’s Inter-mediatE mediation platform, giving Telia the ability to remove some of the rating from the billing system and respond quickly to new business drivers for rate plans.

Inter-mediatE has also offered Telia greater flexibility in creating its own business rules, so Telia can make quick changes to mediation formats allowing the company to charge for a specific rate for a specific service.
