Reliance Communications Ltd (RCOM) is India’s foremost truly integrated telecommunications service provider. The company was looking to ensure flexibility in billing, while maintaining scalability for its rapidly growing market, optimising revenues and minimising revenue leakage.
Solution
The alliance with Intec began in 2002 with the deployment of Intec’s Singl.eView convergent billing platform, followed by InterconnecT for inter-carrier settlement and Inter-mediatE for mediation.
Intec’s Singl.eView solution enabled Reliance Communications to support diverse business needs, both in scale and functionality, giving the company critical time-to-market advantage.
The InterconnecT system currently processes 3.6 billion EDRs a month and has already proven its worth, optimising revenue and minimising potential revenue leakage - and the system is being upgraded to deal with even larger volumes. Inter-mediatE currently manages 32 million EDRs per month, peaking at 1.3 billion per day. Reliance Communications expects growth to increase by 45-50% per annum, with 2 billion events to be processed every day. Inter-mediatE will provide the robust processing that Reliance Communications needs.
